If you wish to add an event or a show, you will be able to use a great application called “Gigs Calendar.” With the Gigs Calendar, we can information about the venue, including a link to it and a google’s map link.

Every time you add a “gig” the application creates a post automatically under the Category “events” and at the same time, it will show in the events page here:

The old entries get archived, which means that the information will continue to be on the site for as long as the admin allows it.

You will find the button to add an event to your left in the main menu.

The Gigs Calendar page will initially open in the “add new gig” page; however, it is extremely important that you make sure the venue is already listed in the data base.

To check on the venues that have already been added to the page, click on “venues,” and if the location is not there, simply click “Add New Venue” and fill out the form.

Here is a screen shot of the form. As you can see, it is very simple. The basic information needed will be the name of the venue, and the address, but it is very useful for our visitors if you also post information such as their official site, google map link, a brief description of the venue, contact information such as phone and e-mail address.

Once you are done adding the information, simply click on “Add Venue.” After that, you will be able to either add another location, or go straight to “Add New Gig” to post the event or show.

Click on “Add new gig” to start the process, just remember that you need to make sure the venue is already in the date base to make it all work.

To add a new show or event, you will need the date, the name of the event, and the location. Other information such as the time, and a description are very useful, but if you do not have that information at the time, you can always come back and edit the “gig.”

This is the first step: Select the venue for the show or the event. If the venue is not already there, then, you may follow the instructions previously shown to add a venue.

Click on the blank space for the date and a pop up calendar will show up. Select the date desired, and click enter.

Make sure that you have the name of event, the beginning date (in case it lasts a few days) and the venue, before you do anything else!

Here you can see the full form. Fill it all out, then, click on ADD GIG at the bottom and a new event will be posted on the site.
