| Other Info | SUPERNOVA: New Paintings by Bart Vargas, July 16 through August 7, 2010. An opening reception with the artist will take place Friday, July 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with live music by The Prairie Gators. SUPERNOVA is a playful celebration of creation, color and light, an installation of over two hundred abstract paintings creating an environment of bright colors, positive energy, and dynamic movement with subtle references to personal experience, astronomy, and the mysteries of existence. Bart Vargas is a Nebraska artist currently living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he is pursuing his Master of Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota. For over ten years Vargas has been exploring the artistic potential of sustainable materials using pattern, repetition and form to blur the identity of everyday materials, he builds paintings, sculptures, and installations that are both playful and thought-provoking. |
